Some folks have already been reposting articles I have written on my blog, and I have been getting questions wanting to make sure this is okay. I have to admit I am flattered by the attention. I will strive to make what I post on my blog as factually accurate as possible, with the caution that what I put there represents my own personal opinions and should not be promoted as unbiased (indeed, those make the loudest claims to be free of bias often are most biased–witness Fox News).
The purpose of this post is to clarify my policy on reposting, hopefully to alleviate any uncertainty. However, feel free to contact me if you still have questions.
In general, I welcome and encourage the reposting of any and all articles on my blog, provided the following conditions are met:
1. The reposter does not stand to derive any personal monetary gain from use of the article.
2. The author of the article, if known, is credited somewhere in the post. Articles by me should be credited to Carl Sack (at this time I feel no need for anonymity).
3. Posts that are not original to my blog should be reposted and/or linked from their original source (but feel free to still add a link to my blog!).
4. The post includes a link to my blog. You are also welcome to include the name of my blog, Under the Rainbow. Please consider placing a permanent link to my blog on your site.
5. Let me know that you reposted my article. I like to keep track of who is paying attention to my blog, and that way I can link to yours as well.
